Nebraskan Marketplace
An eBay and Amazon FBA resale venture with a little bit of everything. Realistic markups, Walmart clearance hunts, and some of my favorite memories of figuring out a business alongside my girlfriend.

The question
Could resale feel like a business I actually wanted to be part of?
By this point, I had mixed feelings about buying things cheaply and selling them for more. Nebraskan Marketplace was an attempt to approach it in a way I felt better about, with reasonable pricing and a different attitude toward the customer.
The approach
We sold a broad mix of products through eBay and Amazon FBA.
Sourcing was a big part of the experience, including scouring Walmart clearance sections with my girlfriend. There was something ridiculously fun about finding a promising item and working out whether it made sense for the business.
The markups were more realistic, which helped the venture feel closer to something I could enjoy.
Where it stands
Nebraskan Marketplace is archived. My interests eventually moved toward other kinds of work, but I still miss parts of this one, especially selling through Amazon FBA.
What stays with me
Those clearance trips were some of the most fun my girlfriend and I have had together.
I have complicated feelings about resale as a long-term path for myself, and I can still appreciate how much I enjoyed this experience. Building something together, hunting for opportunities, and getting excited over a good find gave us memories I’m glad we have.
