GatherRound

A community learning concept connecting children and families with teachers, skilled neighbors, and experiences that spark their curiosity. Coding camps, wilderness skills, new friendships, and a way for people to earn income from what they know.

The question

What if finding something your kid loves learning also helped you find your people?

Families have different interests, needs, and values. Teachers and skilled people have knowledge they could share. Meanwhile, plenty of adults are trying to build a community without having any idea where to start.

Making new friends as an adult sucks, dude. I’d love for learning together to make that a little easier.

02

The approach

GatherRound brings those needs into the same concept.

Children could discover classes and experiences that interest them. Parents could explore learning environments that fit their families, meet other parents, and find opportunities to coordinate things like transportation.

Teachers and skilled individuals could put their knowledge to work through paid classes, whether that means introducing kids to programming or teaching practical skills outdoors.

The aim is to make room for different approaches to learning while giving families enough information to choose thoughtfully.

03

Where it stands

GatherRound is in development as a concept, with the learning experience, community relationships, and instructor opportunities shaping its direction.

Trust, clear expectations, and the responsibilities involved in serving children need careful attention as the idea develops.

04

What stays with me

I like the possibility that one class could become several good things at once.

A kid finds an interest. A teacher earns additional income. Two parents become friends. Somebody discovers they have a useful skill their community actually wants to learn.

Those connections are a big part of why this idea matters to me.
